What We’ve Done

Book Drive

In partnership with Chapman Partnership, Miami Book Fair (The Children’s Trust), and Books for You Miami, SOLEI organized a large-scale book drive, collecting over 1,000 books. Through a collaboration with South Miami Heights Elementary School, students and families contributed to the effort.

Our team was also invited on a guided tour of the Chapman Partnership, where we connected with residents and learned firsthand about their experiences. This initiative provided essential reading materials to shelters while fostering awareness about the power of education and literacy.

Benefit Concert for Children with Cancer in Peru

SOLEI partnered with Inspira, an organization founded by CNN Hero Dr. Ricardo Pun-Chong, to raise funds for children battling cancer in Peru. Together, we hosted a benefit concert featuring three locally known Miami rock bands—Monkey Business, Forthwall, and Vertigo—who generously dedicated their performances to the cause.

The Tea & Poets community of Rhythm also partnered with us, donating their space and resources. Over 200 attendees, many of them youth, came together to learn about and support the cause. Through ticket sales and donations, we raised $2,000+, which went directly to Inspira.

To build deeper connections, SOLEI organized Zoom calls with children at the Inspira shelter, engaging in heartfelt conversations and forming meaningful bonds with the Inspira family.

Women’s Empowerment Campaigns

SOLEI has led several initiatives centered on women’s empowerment, focusing on awareness, advocacy, and direct support

Video Campaign Spotlighting Women: Produced a multimedia project featuring women of all backgrounds—different professions, races, and ages—sharing their voices and perspectives on empowerment. The campaign was recognized by Peruvian Congresswoman Ana Peña and aimed to inspire young girls entering adulthood in the 21st century, affirming that their goals are achievable with the right mindset.

Collaboration with Bautista Manantial de Vida Church: Hosted a women’s campaign that collected donations for Lotus House (a women’s shelter) and featured talks and speeches raising awareness of women’s issues.

Women’s Month Donation Drive: Coordinated drives with Lotus House and Her Future Foundation, connecting with women in both shelters, documenting encounters, and fostering a spirit of solidarity.

Partnerships for Children in Peru

SOLEI partnered with H.O.P.E. for Peru and Christina’s Academy to deliver toys and school supplies to orphans at Casa Hogar Talita Kum in Lima. These initiatives not only provided joy and essential resources to children but also strengthened SOLEI’s international presence and commitment to Peru.

Expansion of SOLEI Chapters

Beyond Miami and Peru, SOLEI is expanding to new communities. The first official SOLEI chapter in Peoria, Illinois, is underway, broadening our impact and creating opportunities for youth and community members to unite under the mission of Love Across Borders.
